The benefits of improved lighting quality by designing according to LEED

Designing sustainable buildings can have many benefits. Have a look at the image above. It gives us a value analysis of the operational cost and productivity and health benefits of LEED certified buildings. It shows that a good lighting design also involves proper daylight design and outside views for the people using the building. Combining this with a good artificial lighting system will increase productivity by 23%.

Over the years XO lights has build up experience in designing for LEED certification. Some of our LEED certified projects are: Swiss Embassy Abudhabi, Masdar Head offices, and Capital Health.

The LEED Rating system

The United States Green Building Council (USGBC) developed the LEED Rating System in 2000, and it has become “the accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings". 'LEED' stands for Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design and is the certification and rating system designed to encourage, standardize, and award sustainable building efforts.
